One thing about this war I haven't understood is why Goon, RA and their allies invest so much time and resources into attacking BOB allies and not BOB direct. I know there has been direct engagment in some of these epic POS battles but as far as I can tell at other times a majority of Goon,RA,etc attacks have not been directed at BOB systems or concentrations of BOB ships.
I know attacking BOB allies does some indirect damage to BOB in the long run but I would assume destroying actual BOB ships and disrupting mining, industry and transport in BOB's home systems would cause more long term damage.
I am genuinely curious about Goon,RA reasons. With my limited understanding of the game it seams like attacking BOBs smaller allies instead of BOB itself,helps BOB in the long run.

It could be attributed to spatial factors, such as the fact that BoB uses your alliance as a meat shield and a cash cow. They let you take the damage while they attack others, and if you die, it's not big deal-- it wasn't their money and posses down the drain. If you live but suffer tremendous damage, that's fine too, as you guys will just spend your own alliance resources to build the shield back up against the rabid goons. The irony is that BoB should be paying you guys since you are doing them a service, and instead, you guys are paying them.

If the BoB homeworlds were right next door, and Rise was in Delve, then it would be understandable that you had to pay BoB, because at that point, BoB is actually being the protective meatshield.

Leave your alliance, rise up against your BoB landlords, and then when BoB falls, and you still have anti-goon sentiment, it's not too late to kill goons then.
